Plant Trees in Israel

Every week our students bring tsedekah to Sunday School. Beith Shalom’s mission is to connect with and support the Jewish state by replanting the trees that were destroyed by the recent bombings in the north. We have on display in the Religious School the certificates our students have received from the Jewish National Fund. You can help support the Jewish people and our Homeland in Israel by contributing to the this important mission. The cost of one tree is $18. If you would like to help, please send an email or call 559-308-1333 for more information.

Holocaust Remembrance Button Project

The Congregation is committed to remember the Shoah and to create a beautiful and lasting tribute to the 6 million Jews who perished during World War II, simply because they were Jewish.

Our beautiful collection of buttons is on display in the shul. Every week it grows. Sometimes one child bring in a single button during Sunday School. sometimes a neighbor will contribute a large sack of long collected buttons from her family….

Our goal is 6 million buttons of every size, shape, and color. Just like the Jews who were murdered. We will never forget because we will create a simple yet powerful way to teach the message to the next generation and the ones that follow. We will turn ugliness into beauty, teach peace by showing the results of war, and build a community based on simple kindness, respect, and love for ourselves, our children, and our children’s children.
